Gospel musician Celestine Donkor marked two decades in music ministry with a powerful night of worship at the 12th edition of Celestial Praiz, held on March 6, 2026, at Victory Bible Church, Awoshie.
The event, dubbed Celestial Praiz XII, brought together gospel lovers, ministers and church groups for an evening that celebrated both faith and the impact of the award-winning singer’s ministry over the past 20 years.
The programme began right on schedule at 3:55pm, setting the tone for a well organised worship encounter that blended music, prayer and moments of reflection. From the opening ministration, the auditorium was filled with praise as patrons joined the various gospel artistes and choirs in worship.
The night featured a strong lineup of celebrated gospel voices from Ghana and across Africa. Among the guest ministers were Kweku Teye, Piesie Esther, Kofi Peprah, Uncle Ato, Zimbabwe’s Tembalami and South Africa’s Zaza Mokheti.
Each artiste took turns leading the congregation through well known worship songs and spontaneous praise sessions, reinforcing the theme of the event: “Worship Encounter.”
Celestine Donkor also ministered a catalogue of her songs in various formats that made them more refreshing and even more appealing to the audience.
She did an all-star performance with Uncle Ato, Piesie Esther, Tembalami and Zaza Mokheti.
The programme showcased several music ministries and choirs that contributed to the spiritually charged atmosphere throughout the evening.
Additional performers included Celestial Breed, Eagles Choir, Beyond Music Ministry, Shackah Choir, Transformation Temple Choir, Afia Ayiwah, Ohemaa Perez and Minister Bella.
A particularly emotional highlight of the evening came when Kofi Donkor, the husband of the host artiste Celestine Donkor, mounted the stage and proposed to her again, publicly reaffirming his love and renewing their marriage vows in front of the congregation. The unexpected moment drew cheers, applause and heartfelt reactions from the audience, adding a personal and memorable touch to the anniversary celebration.
The 2026 edition of Celestial Praiz served as both a worship gathering and a celebration of Celestine Donkor’s 20 year journey in gospel music.
Many attendees described the night as uplifting, emotional and deeply inspiring.
The programme was hosted by Ato Abassa and Bernice Abu Baidoo.
