The newly nominated flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Philip Appiah Kubi also known as Roman Fada has submitted his forms to the Electoral Commission (EC) hoping to be cleared to contest for the upcoming elections.
Roman Fada was named the new Presidential Candidate of the party on November 4, 2024, following the death of Akua Donkor, a long-standing leader of the party.
He submitted the forms to the Commission on November 5, 2024.
Before Akua Donkor’s death, Philip was the party’s Vice-Presidential candidate.
The late Madam Akua Donkor passed away on Monday, October 28 at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.
Broadcast journalist Adakabre Frimpong Manso confirmed the news on TV3’s New Day show on Tuesday, October 29.
The EC later announced the suspension of ballot paper printing after Akua Donkor’s death, and pursuant to the 1992 constitution, the party was provided a ten-day period to replace its presidential nominee.
