Ghanaian Afrobeat and High-life music duo, R2Bees made up of Mugeez and Paedae (Omar Sterling) have finally brought an end to the long haul regarding the release of their impending album.
There have been vacillating decisions in the past year as to when the album will be officially released. Well, as a group well-known for maintaining sustainable growth, knew the score of when it’s appropriate to share this project with their fans.
R2bees made its headline account for this year with ‘Fine Wine’ featuring Ghanaian singer-songwriter King Promise alongside talented Nigerian Afrobeat star Joeboy. Prior to this release, the group had achieved commercial success with their previous release titled ‘Yawa‘ featuring Sarkodie released in the month of October 2020.
The group’s eminent readability was proclaimed with ‘Fine Wine’ which surged up the charts within a few days of release. Succeeding this accomplishment came ‘Eboso’, a precursor to ‘Back 2 Basics’, R2Bees’ fourth studio album. Eboso built anticipation towards the body of work, garnering traction online especially from the rave of comments from music enthusiasts and critics.
‘Back 2 Basics’ is a 15 track star-studded studio project with vibrant collaborations involving Darkovibes, Mr. Eazi, Gyakie, Wizkid & others. Sonically suited to streaming realities, R2Bees offer an ambiance of enchanting Afrobeat atmosphere. Songs on ‘Back 2 Basics’ are mostly delivered in a signature layered native Twi and Pidgin-Eglish language which will pass well in different territories outside Ghana with Nigeria as the main target.
Additionally, Killbeatz, VacsOnIt, Kuvie, DJ Breezy, Streetbeatz, DJ Afrolekra, Nektunez are a few of the producers that worked on the album.
‘Back 2 Basics’ is a beacon of hope for anybody that has lost hope in Ghana music. This project will definitely rekindle your love for music made in Ghana.
