The road to salvation varies with individuals as people have different circumstances that led to their Damascus experiences.
For gospel artiste Perez Musik, his turn away from ungodly behavior was occasioned by a heartbreak he had some years ago.
The ‘Blema Tesaa’ singer told Andy Dosty in an interview on Daybreak Hitz that after having tasted a lot of worldly lifestyles including smoking, he had an experience that changed his life for the better.
“The truth is [that] it started with a heartbreak. Andy, don’t laugh at me. At that point, it was very painful. I’ve never told the story before but I will say it without mentioning names. Somebody in the industry was hitting on my girlfriend back then.
I brought my girlfriend to visit me in the office when I turned, he took the lady’s number. The next time they were talking. And this was somebody that was my ‘buddy-buddy.’ That’s why I don’t make friends,” he said.
He added that he went out one day with his friend and the guy gave his phone to Perez to make a call. Then Perez saw his girlfriend’s display photo pop up on his friend’s phone.
“I opened and said ‘yo’. I just gave the phone back to him and went home. I didn’t say anything to him. I just left and I went home,” he added.
The gospel musician, however, stated that since he was born again, he has reveled in the peace and joy that comes with serving the Lord.
He has chalked several successes in the music industry including winning Songwriter of the Year and Best Male Vocal Performance at the 24th Ghana Music Awards.
He has to his credit, songs such as Majie Oyi, Kaafo, Walatse, and Hewale Lala, among others.
